This morning when I looked out of the front windows towards the pond, I noticed that the ferns on the far side looked very beautiful in their yellow-orange fall color. So after breakfast I got my camera and walked along the well worn deer trail through the pondside grass (they must be coming to drink the pond water often) to the opposite side of the pond. It is a very still, partly sunny morning, which allows for a crisp reflection of my house on the surface of the pond, the color of the weathering wood clapboards echoing the color of the ferns.
