Maybe she thought you were eventually going to give her some great meal. I've only seen a barred owl one other time and it was sitting on a post outside my vegetable garden. And a barred owl is my neighbor here in the forest, used to come sit on a branch outside my house all day in the spring and watch me and the cats stack wood. (well, ME stack wood, cats watching me, watching the owl.
