I agree with you on the similarity between Lane and Chambers, though of course Chambers is more expressive and "primitive".Altoon Sultanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16743040814034732581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-69581499442851517362011-11-29T10:10:02.984-05:002011-11-29T10:10:02.984-05:00I recently 'discovered' Thomas Chambers an...I recently 'discovered' Thomas Chambers and I'm sorry I missed the shows at the Folk Art Museum as well as the Philadelphia Museum. His work is a bit more primitive than that of Fitz Hugh Lane, which I have loved for years, but still bears a similarity I think. Also just discovered your blog as I was searching for more on Chambers. It looks fascinating and will add it to my 'favorites' as it is too large to explore in one sitting.

RichardAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-59430954823061147482010-12-26T11:18:33.421-05:002010-12-26T11:18:33.421-05:00I like pizzazz to describe his colors. Interesting how he used prints for his work.Andreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08159511912645034019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-28477043766696636972009-11-12T08:14:08.744-05:002009-11-12T08:14:08.744-05:00Hi Altoon:

We enjoy all of the topics: art discoveries, nature walks, what's for dinner, and work in progress. I found myself thinking about "magic" as an aesthetic property. You had used that word on one of your walks. Most philosophers are very nervous about words like that, but not me. Thomas Chambers is a nice discovery: we loved the clouds.

Tom and KarenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-26542489706303296412009-11-09T17:29:17.094-05:002009-11-09T17:29:17.094-05:00I must check out the American Folk Art Museum; tha...I must check out the American Folk Art Museum; thanks for some highlights on this current show.Mona Diane Connerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02022399915344870046noreply@blogger.com
