It is funny that the eye usually travels left to right and I am finding my eye drawn to the darker hooked section, then to its peak toward the lighter hooked section continuing in a counterclockwise direction. The depth adds to this work.Lori LaBergehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07359673505050157296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-34500405825796036732014-03-28T11:20:21.875-04:002014-03-28T11:20:21.875-04:00Thank you, Julie.Thank you, Julie.Altoon Sultanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16743040814034732581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-6131388930800782722014-03-27T17:42:02.218-04:002014-03-27T17:42:02.218-04:00I think #6 is heightened by the contrast of the tw...I think #6 is heightened by the contrast of the two differing textures...<br />Great dynamism, I agree, with #4 & 5!Julie Siegelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17668542359534413638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-29532342798781369722014-03-27T11:46:11.872-04:002014-03-27T11:46:11.872-04:00Thanks, Ravenna. You say the work took over and went its own way, but when that happens, the work has indeed been guided by our own hands and thoughts. For me, that is when magical things happen--the 'mistakes' that often lead the work to wonderful places. I can't find the precise statement, but I recall something Louis Kahn had expressed about the importance of unintended gestures (I know he didn't say 'gestures', but I think the meaning is clear.)Tamarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15820235952600662107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-55417334267830097682014-03-26T19:21:46.047-04:002014-03-26T19:21:46.047-04:00You have such a design sense.....................s...You have such a design sense.....................swoon.Roberta Warshawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09869094383053871169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658518583188826551.post-36405840541863803132014-03-26T18:16:39.006-04:002014-03-26T18:16:39.006-04:00Thanks so much, Joan.
