Through the snow, and leaves coloring and falling, the small spirea in front of my little porch hasn't given up on blooming. I cut off the large main flower heads in late summer when they started to go to seed, which allowed the side shoots to grow and flower. And though most have turned brown as they move towards reproduction, there are flashes of deep pink/red amidst the still green leaves. It's cheering to see this color every time I enter the house.
This looks like a spring posting. Lovely variety of spirea. The flowers on my plant are a powder pink.
