An Article on My Hooked Ruglets

I'm very pleased that The Textile Blog, written by John Hopper, has just published an article on my ruglets. You can see it here. It's interesting for me to see my work described within the context of the ongoing art and tradition of textiles. The piece above was also highlighted on Fibercopia, another blog about textiles.

  1. congrats Altoon! Great article and the ruglets included with the article are exquisite. I'm picturing how great they would look in the American Craft Museum.

  2. Dear Altoon, I found you via Textile Blog. Your work is delicious eye candy for me! I am a Locker Hooker, please don't sniff and turn your back! I know it is not true hooking, but I am enjoying taking this medium to new places. Of course I study rug hooking designs for inspiration, but locker hooking is based on squares, or pixels if you will, so has to be approaced differently than tradition rug hooking, to achieve complex motifs. I made a purse (a bag really) in November and blogged about it if you are curious. I am officially listing you as one of my favorites and will come visit you again soon.

  3. thanks Mona, and welcome, Julia. I took a quick look at your work and will read more on Locker hooking, because I don't know what it is. Is it like latch hooking?
