A March Morning

A beautiful March morning, with blue shadows streaking the white snow, melted into small corrugations, looking like wind blown sand. It's perfect sugaring weather, with freezing nights and mildish days, which encourage the rise of sap. The frosty night hardens the surface of snow into an icy layer, so Blinky can wander across it, and then sit regarding the frozen pond, hoping to spot a small creature.

  1. I was out early this morning, collecting winter twigs for a workshop, and our cats also enjoyed the crust -- they had a ball running all over the place. The late winter sunlight is wonderful.

Susan, the light is truly beautiful, the sun is noticeably higher, the days longer. And next week we change the clocks!

  4. This is a beautiful photo, Altoon! The blue light on the textured snow and Blinky getting many chances to blink with the brilliant sunlight. I'm enjoying watching the world through your eyes.
