The Corn is Ripe

The early corn, a variety called Spring Treat, is finally ripe, about a week late. I got some water boiling and went out to pick two ears for lunch. Corn rolled in butter as appetizer, then a fried eggplant sandwich, steamed green beans and tomatoes, all fresh from the garden, with just-picked blueberries for dessert. Is this heaven, or what?

  1. Yes, eating from the garden is heaven...nice capture of that fresh young corn and loved the post on eggplant. Did you see the Julia/Julie movie? Very good about food and cooking. Meryl is fabulous as Julia.
