Although this cool and wet summer is miserable for many crops––the corn is a foot shorter than normal, and who knows when I'll get a ripe tomato––lettuce and other greens are very happy. Here are a Green Deer Tongue lettuce, Merlot lettuce and arugula. I plant these crops closely together and harvest by cutting the leaves, which will regrow fairly quickly. Once a month, I plant a new crop for fresh greens all summer.
